Perfectly Lawful Reasons To Hide Your IP Address

When I foremost heard that IP addresses could be hidden and that several people are exactly doing it, I was really quite fearful about the all thing. My view was, why would anyone want to hide their IP addresses? Exactly because they had something to hide! Perhaps they were doing something immoral or illegal and so they wanted to hide themselves from the World Wide Web. That was what I used to think. Now I have grown wiser. I have realized there are many more perfectly justified cause why someone might think hiding their IP addresses.

Suppose you have an online business. There are many ways you might be promoting it. The Internet provides great tools for online promotion. Email marketing is one of them. If you have to send mails to people about your business, then you might want to protect your IP address for security reasons. Someone might complain about your mail being unsolicited, though you are sending them purely because you are conducting an honest business and want people to know about it. At such times, if you hide your IP address, it could be a essential way to conduct your promotion strategy in secrecy. You will be able to promote your business also and no will be able to trace the mail back to you.

Hiding your IP address can become a unexpected tool for reviving your communication on blogs and forums where you have been banned. We all know how quirky and temperamental most blogs, forums, chat rooms, etc. are. They could ban a person just for a whim. If something unlucky like that has happened with you, you could simple mask your IP address, make a new username and carry on. In future, most of these places won't be able to ban you because with IP masking software you would be able to log in using a number of fake IP addresses.

If you hide your IP address, your computer also remains protected from spyware that gets installed on your computer with other downloads. Spyware makes its house on your computer and then tracks your personal information. It could also divulge information about your net banking accounts and such great things. But with fake IPs, it will become difficult for someone who is monitoring your PC to get at the information.

But the most important reason to hide your IP address is of course to get more privacy. It is actually unethical for anyone to know what you are browsing. It's your private life and your private net world. Infringement cannot be tolerated. How would you like it if someone can easily find out which sites you have gone to, which chat rooms you have visited, which blogs you have posted on, and God forbid which usernames and passwords you have used throughout your Internet communication? Certainly, that is not done. That is, quite positively, the most important reason why you should take some urgent steps to hide your IP address.
